I'm Amber, the voice behind Beautifully Divergent and all things Neurodiversity.
Two years ago, at the age of 40 after I left a challenging relationship, moved to a new city, and truly started finding myself. I began a journey of self-discovery that changed my path in life. It was then after scrolling (doom scrolling if I am being honest, going down the rabbit hole if I am being really honest) social media and finding content that I strongly related to, that I realized I was neurodivergent
Finding out that I am part of the neurodiverse community has fueled an obsession (hello hyperfocus) with learning all the things about being neurodivergent. I'm committed to investigating the complexities of neurodivergence, not just for myself but also to help others on similar journeys. It's what drives me to connect with people like you, so we can learn, grow, and cope together. My focus is on building a community where creativity, inspiration, and connection enhances the lives of other neurodiverse people. Through these connections, we can find balance and make sense of the world around us.
Together, we will explore the highs and lows of being neurodivergent, celebrate our unique talents, and support each other through challenges. My goal is to learn how to not only survive this chaotic, complex, and many times overwhelming world we live in as a neurodivergent individual but also thrive in it (without going crazy) and supporting others that want to do the same.
You are not alone in all of this and I want others to not feel alone also. I've been there in the beginning of all this and it wasn't pretty (still isn't as I navigate all of these challenges). No one should feel like an outcast which is exactly how our neurotypical society makes us feel one way or another on an almost daily basis. We can create the life we want, inspire ourselves and others in the process and make meaningful and hopefully life long connections.
If there is one thing neurodiversity has taught me is that I am not crazy even though my weird brain tells me I am. Let's navigate this wild ride of life and also enjoy the process of it all with grace( if you aren't the awkward type like me), humor (if you are like me I have a minor in sarcasm hehe) and community. Thanks for being here and I look forward to meeting and learning about all of you.
